    APPLICATION / RESERVATION

    When do applications start?

    Applications are available throughout the year subject to the availability of accommodation units.

    Is there an age limit for making a reservation?

    Yes, in order to make your reservation, you must be over 18 years old, otherwise you must be your guardian to formalize the request.

    When I apply, do I guarantee my accommodation?

    No, after submitting the application, you will be contacted by our team within a maximum of 24 hours in order to conduct an interview. Subsequently, the decision on your admission will be communicated via email or telephone. If you are admitted, you will have the active reservation.

    How long does the reservation last?

    The reservation is active for a period of up to 24 hours, which is confirmed with payment.

    Do you have a booking fee?

    We do not have a reservation fee.

    Although I am not a student, can I apply for residency?

    Yes. We also accept applications from professors, researchers, young professionals and other people who are connected to the academic environment.

    If I am unable to obtain a residence visa, can I cancel the stay?

    Yes, according to the terms established in the application process.

    ACCOMMODATION

    Can I choose who I will share the accommodation with?

    Place your order and we will do our best to satisfy you.

    How are the rooms distributed?

    The rooms will be distributed according to the regulations in order to provide you with the best experience possible during your stay.

    Am I allowed to receive guests at the accommodation?

    Yes. In common social areas, according to the maximum occupancy established in the security measures compared to COVID-19. The frequency of people outside the residence in the bedroom areas is not allowed. For us, your safety comes first.

    What is included in the price of my room?

    Personal Coach (tutored), high speed internet with connection by Ethernet cable, WI-FI, electricity, gas and water. All rooms are equipped with heating and residents can independently regulate the temperature in their room.

    You will have a weekly cleaning included. All rooms at The Gallery Residence have a private bathroom.

    Can i smoke in the accommodation?

    Do not.

    What should I do if I don't get along with my roommate?

    We ask that you always speak to the Residence Manager that you will meet at the residence. Your well-being is our priority, we want you to feel at home. Together we will find a solution.

    Can I change rooms?

    In exceptional circumstances, it may be possible to make a change that will have to be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

    What do I do if something in my room breaks down or doesn't work?

    Please inform your problem at the reception or send an email to info@thegalleryresidence.pt. We will go as soon as possible to solve the reported problem.

    EVENTS AND OTHER SERVICES

    Are there any events organized for residents?

    Yes. We will have several initiatives throughout the year, from social events to workshops.
    Conditioned to the pandemic situation we currently live in. Your safety is our priority.

    What kind of services can I access during my stay at the residence?

    The Gallery Residence is part of the U-World group universe, provides several types of services to its residents, from the U-World Shop, mobility (U-Mobility), mentoring, tutoring and complementary training to the development of skills as well as others that can consulted on the websites.

    Do you provide a shuttle service from the airport / bus station / train station to the residence?

    Yes, through U-Mobility. This cost is part of a complementary service to be acquired upon request.

    INSTALLATIONS

    Who cleans the common areas?

    The common areas will be cleaned daily by a specialized team. However, we promote the responsibility of each one, in compliance with the cleaning and hygiene rules and the COVID-19 contingency plan.

    Will I have internet via WI-FI and Cable TV channels?

    Yes, we will have high speed internet via WI-FI throughout the building and ethernet cable in the rooms. Cable TV only in social areas.

    Can I receive mail, order and have supermarket purchases delivered to the premises?

    Of course, you just have to give the address, name, room number and mobile phone.
    You will be able to collect any postal correspondence addressed to you that is announced on the message board, from the Residence Manager.

    Attention, that the remaining food or other deliveries will have to be received by you directly.

    Can I take pets?

    Unfortunately you can’t. Although we love animals😊

    PAYMENTS AND MONTHLY PAYMENTS

    What are the stay options?

    We have short, medium and long term stays:

    • Short Duration – from 1 day to 1 month;
    • Average Duration – 1 month to 6 months;
    • Long Term – 6 months to 11 months.

    Is there a discount if it belongs to a Protocol Association?

    Yes. We have protocols established with different Academic and Student Associations, which will give you a 10% discount on the amount per bed.

    What are the payment options?

    Cash, bank transfer, and Portuguese debit cards (ATM) are accepted.

    CHECK-IN CHECK-OUT

    What documents do I need to bring to check in?

    A valid identification document and proof that you are a member of the academic community. We have everything registered and waiting for your arrival.

    What time can I arrive?

    You will be able to check-in from 2 pm onwards. Check-out time is until 11 am.
    If you intend to arrive at another time, you will have to inform the team in advance.

    Is it possible to arrive outside office hours on the day of the move?

    Yes, you will have to confirm availability with the team in advance.

    Are there times to enter and leave the residence?

    Residents are free to enter and leave the residence at a time that is convenient for them.

    Who will be waiting for me?

    Our staff will be waiting for you to welcome you and to introduce you to your new home.

    Can I leave before the agreed deadline?

    Only in exceptional and duly justified cases will you be able to leave, under the terms of the contract.

    Can I stay during the month of August?

    Yes, upon prior consultation.

    What time can I check in to the short-stay accommodation? What about checkout?

    You can do it from 12pm until 7pm. Check-out must be done by 12 noon.
